Is your bedroom feeling like more of a cluttered catch all area, than the relaxing space you wish it was? I’ve been there. But with patience and these romantic bedroom ideas, you can transform it into the place you can’t wait to be after a long day.
After settling into a new home with my husband, I noticed something. The bedroom was more a collection of my random furniture from over the years, than the romantic hideaway I really wanted. With that in mind, I set out to find simple ways to make it feel more stylish.
Here are are a few of the best romantic bedroom ideas for couples, that I’m trying out for a cozier master retreat.
#1. Make A Romantic Cocoon With A Bed Canopy
This easy idea for romantic bedrooms has been a favorite of mine forever! I’ve had a canopy bed in the past, and I love that it makes you feel like you’re climbing into a cozy cocoon.
There are two ways to achieve this look: get a four poster canopy bed, or hang your own canopy above the bed.
Both are lovely, but if you are strapped for space, I suggest hanging your own bed canopy. They are easy to DIY, and won’t take up extra space like a four poster canopy bed. This tip will give you the romantic look you crave, and even help to make a small bedroom look bigger!

#2. Use Oversized Mirrors For Added Elegance
I sing the praises of oversized mirrors all the time, but they’re a great idea for romantic bedrooms.
Large mirrors with elegant frames will give your bedroom a luxury feeling. They’re a great way to fill a blank wall, and the added light will make your space feel more open and airy!

#3. Add Texture With Faux Fur Decor
The warm textures of faux fur can work wonder to make your bedroom feel even cozier.
You’ve probably seen all the lovely faux fur rugs across your instagram feeds in recent years, but this trend looks great on your bed, too!
Try adding some warmth in layers, with a faux fur throw or faux fur pillows. And the best part? They come in great neutral colors, like white, brown, and gray, to perfectly match your decor.

#4. Place A Bench At The End Of The Bed
You’re probably thinking- “Okay, what would I even use it for?” but hear me out!
Adding a bench to the end of the bed is one of the most practical romantic bedroom ideas on this list. Why? It will keep your clutter off the bed, and give you an easy place to rest items while changing clothes, and bedding. (And I know I’m not the only one out there who prefers if outside clothes stay off the bed!)
Nothing says luxury romantic bedroom like extra seating, and an elegant bench works wonders to make a space feel more refined.

#5. A Little Love Quote Goes A Long Way
Here’s the thing about Inspirational Quote Decor: it can either make you smile everyday, or leave you wondering if it’s way too tacky.
Luckily there are a ton of other sweet options for a romantic bedroom, besides those “Live Laugh Love” canvases.
Try finding a sweet phrase to display with a modern neon light, pillows, or a framed art. It’ll be the final touch to bring your dream romantic bedroom to life!

I just remodeled/redecorated my entire home including 3 of 4 bathrooms. My primary bed/bath is North facing along the SF coast so I choose watercolorblowsy magnolia wallpaper for both in cream background, pink, green and tinge of butter yellow bloom design.I LOVE borders and added a rose/lace border, reminding me of my Tias and their knit/croqueting, I change out my 3 quilts when the mood strikes: Thelma’s Garden, Pottery barn tel w/ touches of lavender and Italian silk velvet in shades of pinks. By the fireplace I have a vintage chair and a contemporary DEEP tub chair where I drink my coffee before starting the day. I have super fluffy towels in whites, pinks and teals displayed in a modern tiered glass shelf against my new shower no seam glass door. New chandeliers everywhere, blankets in silk velvet, colorful pillows with each quilt chNGE.
